Hey folks!
I’ve decided to start writing about my food adventures in and around Charlotte, since many people always ask me about the places that I try.
I recently had the chance to try an insane experience at The Palm Charlotte. The Palm has been around since the 20’s. Now, with an existence that long you know it has to be good.
I was able to bring a guest along and boy I am glad that I did!
I was only expecting to try their summer lobster menu, but once we arrived the team really rolled out the red carpet.
We started with a quick spill by our amazing waiter, Matt. He offered us cocktails and wine to start things off. I chose the Blackberry Bram and my friend chose the seasonal Strawberry Ginger Spritz.
Next up were some small plates. Matt curated for us 3 plates: the bacon-wrapped sea scallops, shrimp bruno (dijon jumbo shrimp), and crab cakes. Everything was delish, but we were just getting started.
From there, came the actual starters that were paired with the Summer Lobster special. With the standard pairing, you can choose from one appetizer per person. We were able to try 3 of them. We had the house salad with blue cheese crumbles, lobster bisque, and the watermelon and burrata salad.
Now, it was officially time to get down to business aka bring on the giant Nova Scotia lobster, but first another round of cocktails. This time we opted for the cucumber basil gimlet. It was bomb.com. I’m not a big drinker but this drink was refreshing with the perfect amount of sweet.
Ok, now time for the main even for real this time.
The summer promotion features a 4-lb Nova Scotia lobster that is meant to be shared between two people. You also get one shared side for the table for only $99 total.
When they brought out our meal, you would have thought I was Beyonce. It’s like it just kept coming. Literally, 4 waiters came to bring out our dishes. All eyes were on us and it was pretty dope.
For the meal, we had the lobster (cause duh), a 9oz.filet mignon topped with asparagus and more lobster, Brussels sprouts, Duck-Fat-Roasted Parmesan and Rosemary Fingerling Potatoes, Asparagus fritti (imagine asparagus fries with a lemon and cheese sauce), and
crispy pancetta and caramelized pearl onions.Yea, I know that’s a lot!
The cool thing about The Palm, is that despite being this fancy spot they also know how to let their hair down too. When you order the lobster, you are given an adult sized bib to keep your clothes clean when you go in on your food. For me, it was a fun photo moment.
Just when we thought the food party was over and that it was time to go, Matt brought out this giant silver platter full of dessert. OMG! We had 7-layer chocolate cake, cheesecake, and warm donut holes. Not to mention an assortment of fresh berries and homemade whipped cream.
And at that point, we had officially reached food coma status. But it was well worth it!
The Palm definitely exceeded my expectations all around. It is a great spot for special occasions like anniversaries, holidays, and even birthdays. You can catch the summer lobster promotion running until July 31. If you happen to miss it, there are plenty of other options on the menu for you to choose from!
